Nota de sumario, etc. Evaluación del estado y la caracterización de materiales y estructuras por medio de métodos de ensayos no destructivos (END) es una necesidad prioritaria en todo el mundo para afrontar los retos asociados con el monitoreo durabilidad, mantenimiento, rehabilitación, remodelación, renovación y la salud de nuevo y las infraestructuras existentes como el casco monumentos. Numerosos métodos de ensayos no destructivos que hacen uso de ciertos componentes del espectro electromagnético y acústico están actualmente en uso para este efecto con distintos niveles de éxito y hay un esfuerzo de investigación en todo el mundo intensiva destinada a mejorar los métodos existentes y desarrollar otras nuevas. El conocimiento y la información recopilada en este libro captura el estado de la técnica actual en los métodos de ensayos no destructivos y su aplicación a los materiales y estructuras de ingeniería civil y otros. Revisiones críticas y discusiones interdisciplinarias avanzadas por investigadores de renombre mundial apuntan a las capacidades y limitaciones de los métodos de END que actualmente se utilizan y arrojan luz sobre líneas de investigación actuales y futuras para superar los desafíos en su desarrollo y el uso práctico.
